Emirates Shipping Line Joins The ASEAN Gulf Indian Subcontinent Service

Hong Kong, August 31st, 2010 - Emirates Shipping Line today announced its participation in the ASEAN – Gulf - Indian Subcontinent (AGI) service.

The ASEAN – Gulf – ISC (AGI) service, launched by a consortium of Evergreen, Simatech and OOCL offers a direct link from Thailand to the Middle East and the Indian Sub continent.
Emirates will have slots on the service and will serve the Thailand – ISC markets with additional direct link to the Middle East.

The port rotation of the service is : Laem Chabang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas - Port Klang – Colombo – Jebel Ali – Karachi – Mundra – Colombo – Port Klang – Singapore – Laem Chabang
Emirates's participation commences on the “HS Challenger” departing Thailand on September 17th 2010.

The service is the only direct link that exists between Thailand and the Middle East
