DGX Acquires Operations of C&H Freight: Specialist In Latin American Trade
RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA, OCTOBER 28: DGX (Dependable Global Express) has acquired certain operations of C&H Freight (USA, LLC), a neutral NVOCC specializing in the Central and South American trade.
Operations of C&H Freight acquired by DGX include its weekly and bi-weekly consolidations from the west coast of the U.S. to Central and South America, a network of agents in Latin America and the company's good will.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
C&H Freight has been in business for the past eleven years and since its inception, has concentrated on the growing Latin American market. South America now is one of the strongest economic regions in world commerce. The NVOCC, based in Torrance, CA, was founded by Mat Silver, a 30-year veteran in ocean and air cargo. Mr. Silver and the majority of his staff will join DGX at its headquarters in Rancho Dominguez.
In making the announcement of the acquisition, Brad Dechter, President of DGX-Dependable Global Express, DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express and DAX-Dependable AirCargo Express, stated, we have been exploring for some time the acquisition of a consolidator who specializes in the Latin American market to round out our international logistics services. C&H Freight fits our needs perfectly with a growing presence throughout Central and South America and particularly with the major trading nations within Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.
Mr. Dechter said that C&H Freight will be folded into DGX-Dependable Global Express, the international ocean freight company within the Dependable Companies. Mr. Silver will be in charge of this new Latin American trade lane while Mr. Antonio Bellido, C&H's Director of Sales & Marketing, will be tasked with the responsibility of making the transition seamless, as well as growing the business. C&H's smaller air cargo operation will be absorbed into the company's third division, DAX-Dependable AirCargo Express.
