DB Schenker Provides International Paralympic Committee with Logistics and Freight Forwarding Service

(Berlin/Essen/Bonn, March 4, 2010) DB Schenker has reached an agreement to provide the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), headquartered in Bonn, Germany with Logistics, Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance services across Vancouver 2010 (March 12 to 21) and London 2012 (August 29 to September 9) Paralympic Games as well as other key IPC events. Both the IPC and DB Schenker have been working together since Athens 2004.

We are certainly pleased to have DB Schenker commit to providing services to the IPC through to the end of 2012. We rely on quality logistics services to get us to the starting line of our events, and we are more than happy to see the experience and skills of DB Schenker as a member of our team, said Xavier Gonzalez, CEO of the IPC.

Michael Korn, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Schenker Deutschland AG, commented: This is a logical and necessary progression for our sports events team. We want to work with the IPC team in Bonn, get to their event on time, in full and with accuracy. The IPC is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the International Federation for nine sports, for which it supervises and co-ordinates the World Championships and other competitions.
