JOC Staff |
Madison, NJ, March 08, 2010 - Damco has been appointed Customs House Broker by The Children's Place, a leading North American children's clothing retailer, for USA and Canada. This appointment is an extension to the collaboration between the two companies that has developed over the last 15 years. The existing collaboration includes the Damco management of The Children's Place purchase orders from global origins to delivery at the 4 distribution centres in the United States and Canada.

The selection of Damco as Customs House Broker has allowed The Children's Place to take advantage of the Damco services to comply with the U.S. Customs mandated Importer Security Filing (ISF) 10+2 ruling for enhanced supply chain security.

The execution of the 10+2 (ISF) solution through Damco's Customs House Brokerage service will allow The Children's Place to move forward with confidence into the 2010 compliance enforcement period with US Customs, knowing that quality, accuracy, and timeliness of this product will meet both U.S. Customs standards and that of The Children's Place, says Jeremy Haycock, President for Damco in North America.

Mr. Haycock continues, We are excited to see our relationship with The Children's Place grow and are pleased to take on this new opportunity. Our relationship with The Children's Place goes a long way and we look forward to providing them with our additional services and supporting their growth.

Damco's focus will be to implement and deliver to the operational KPIs, and continue to support further optimization, performance and cost reductions in The Children's Place supply chain.

Dedication to service has been the corner stone of Damco's supply chain excellence philosophy and The Children's Place partnership speaks volumes about our commitment to our customers, says Haycock.
