Damco appoints new head of Reefer Development
Madison, NJ – February 08, 2010 - Damco is very pleased to announce that Mr Erik Osinga has joined our organization as head of our Reefer Development in Europe. Erik has over 20 years of experience in the international food trade, working in the Netherlands and in Central and South America. For the last 7 years he has been in the fresh fruit business supplying European retail and wholesale, of which 5 years as managing director of the continental Europe marketing and sales operations of one of the largest berry producers and marketers in world.
During the course of 2009 Damco has been recruiting a number of Reefer fresh and frozen industry specialists, strengthening the global network developing business solutions with growers and importers alike. Erik will be focusing on leveraging the scale and expertise of this network for the benefit of European importers and food retailers.
Bringing onboard Mr. Osinga further consolidates Damco's position as the leading global end-to-end supply chain specialist in reefer logistics, connecting retailers and other buyers of fresh and frozen produce, reducing cost and lead-time to market, said Ole Schack Petersen, Global Head of Reefer Logistics for Damco.
