CSCMP Launches Senior Executive Institute for Supply Chain Professionals

Lombard, Illinois USA (March 4, 2010)—The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced the opening of its Senior Executive Institute (SEI) for supply chain professionals, with the first session to be held April 23-27, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland USA.

Modeled after highly-successful senior-level programs that have been offered at The Brookings Institution, the Senior Executive Institute was designed to help supply chain management executives develop fundamental leadership skills in five core areas: discipline, strategic thinking, planning, leverage, and integration for sustainability. The first session will focus on discipline. The program provides participants with the tools to build their own management systems that are aligned with their corporate missions, yet flexible enough to take them into the future.

“One of the key responsibilities of a senior executive is to design, create, and implement a successful management system to ensure the health of his or her organization, now and in the future," said CSCMP’s Program Chair John Caltagirone, vice president—manufacturing, distribution, and trade for The Revere Group. “Our institute provides supply chain executives with the optimal educational environment for mastering this task. Workshops are tailored exclusively for C-level professionals who want to take their skills to the next level of leadership and learn how to motivate their employees to become genuine stakeholders.”

The program consists of a series of five three- to four-day workshops presented over a period of 16 months at different locations throughout the United States. Participants will have the opportunity to develop individual and organizational pilot projects that they will be able to implement in their own organizations and report on the results at the next session.

The faculty is comprised of well-known senior-level management experts representing a variety of industries working in and outside of the supply chain function. Workshop dates are as follows:

• April 23-27, 2010—Baltimore, Maryland
• August 6-9, 2010—Berkeley, California
• November 19-22, 2010—South Florida
• March 4-7, 2011—Chicago, Illinois
• June 17-21, 2011—Seattle, Washington
