ASF Logistics, of Mobile AL, has been instrumental in putting together a complete logistics solution for re-locating the “Darwin” exhibition following an engagement at the Natural History Museum in London UK. ASF Logistics has teamed with its partner in the UK, HPL (UK) Ltd, to provide a door-to-door service from the Natural History Museum in London to the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland Ohio. Both ASF and HPL have extensive experience in handling project cargo and perishable goods.

Steven Chard, a spokesperson for ASF Logistics, stated ‘‘we are pleased to be able to showcase our abilities involving such sensitive and fragile shipments which will no doubt further serve as a testament to the level of professional service which we provide to our clients.’’ Chard also explained that ASF chose Mediterranean Shipping Company to complete the ocean leg of the supply chain with 13/40’ standard containers from Felixstowe UK to New York NY, because of ‘’a close working relationship between the organizations and the integrity of the MSC service.’’

The exhibition contains the most complete collection of Charles Darwin's manuscripts, artifacts, memorabilia, and other rare personal belongings and is the largest exhibition ever to chronicle the life and theories of the renowned geologist and naturalist. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species (24 November 1859) and the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth (12 February 1809).

“Darwin” is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York, in collaboration with the Museum of Science, Boston; The Field Museum, Chicago; the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Canada; and the Natural History Museum, London, England.
