Econocaribe appoints global accounts director

Econocaribe Consolidators is pleased to announce that William (Bill) Higgins has been appointed to the position of Director of Global Accounts. Mr. Higgins has been with Econocaribe since November 2007, and has been responsible for the business development for the company on the Gulf and West Coast of the United States as the Regional Sales manager.

Prior to Joining Econocaribe Bill Higgins was the owner of GENESIS (Europe/UK) Ltd., a 20 year, Houston Texas based NVOCC which was specialized in consolidation services to North Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia. Genesis was purchased by Econocaribe in 2007 as part of the company’s expansion plans to become a Global Carrier. “In our industry, success is sometimes based simply on good timing” said Higgins. He also added “Econocaribe’s expansion as a Global Carrier over the past four plus years has brought plenty of opportunities for us to build on, enabling us to deliver the scope of services and trade-lanes that the forwarders depend on.”

Bill will be responsible for the further development of our Multinational Freight Forwarder accounts, not just here in the United States, but on a Global basis through our worldwide partnership with Belgian based ECU LINES, said Brad Broder, Vice President of sales for Econocaribe. “We have worked very hard over the past few years to build a network of services and I.T. solutions for the freight forwarders that make it easy to work as partners with Econocaribe.” Broder added, “Bill is a great fit for this position, he has over 25 years of experience in the industry, he owned and operated a very successful NVOCC of his own, and brings dynamic ideas and processes to both Econocaribe and the forwarders.”

Econocaribe, established in 1968, is a neutral NVOCC offering global import and export ocean and air services. For more information you can visit www.econocaribe.com or call 866-Econo IT (326-6648). Bill Higgins can be contacted directly at -whiggins@econocaribe.com.
