Participants representing 14 nations have completed an extensive 18 month program in terminal management and operations to become poised for leadership roles in the company.

The Hague, The Netherlands – APM Terminals CEO Kim Fejfer was joined by A.P. Moller-Maersk Group Senior Vice President – Corporate Human Resources, William S. Allen and Tiemen Meester, Vice President of APM Terminals Human Resources in a ceremony at the World Forum Convention Center in The Hague bestowing diplomas upon the 18 graduates of the latest APM Terminals Management (MAGNUM) training class.

Chosen from applicants within the APM Terminals Global Terminal Network in a highly competitive selection process, MAGNUM participants proceed through a three-module program featuring practical terminal hands-on training assignments as well as rigorous classroom curricula.

This graduating class represented 14 nations, and included participants from Asia, Europe, Africa, and North and South America. With the program now behind them, the MAGNUM alumni can expect to be at the forefront of APM Terminals plans for the future.

“It has certainly been a difficult year for the industry” noted Mr. Fejfer in his remarks to the graduates, “but that has also prepared you well for your future careers”.

In addition to the coursework and rotating terminal assignments during the 18 months, a major goal of the program is to expose participants to international postings outside of their own countries and regions, and to develop strong team cohesion among the young leaders for their careers together across the APM Terminals Global Terminal Network.

“The bonding that takes place throughout our time together in classes and in terminal assignments is one of the most powerful teaching tools we experienced” said MAGNUM graduate Alex Muller, who came to the program from the APM Terminals Rotterdam facility.

“These are relationships that will last a lifetime” agreed Ashraf Mabrouk, who was accepted into the program from the Port of Salalah.
