APM Terminals Earns Top Honors in 2008 PMA Safety Awards

Los Angeles, Calif. – APM Terminals Americas recently earned several awards for its achievements in workplace safety from the Pacific Maritime Association. APM Terminals Pier 400 (Los Angeles), APM Terminals Oakland and APM Terminals Tacoma were each recognized in their respective PMA regions during the association’s 60th Annual Safety Awards.

Pier 400-Los Angeles won First Place Safety Award in the Class A Container Group for the Los Angeles/Long Beach areas, as well as First Place Group A Container Companies Coast Award. Pier 400 won both of these awards last year.

For the second year in a row, APM Terminals Oakland took top honors in its region with First Place in the Class C Container Group category for Northern California. Oakland also named 2nd Place winner in the Class C category for the entire West Coast.

APM Terminals Tacoma received a Coast Accident Prevention Award for a Reduction in Injury Rate Three Consecutive Years.
