U.S. Xpress Enterprises recently entered two deals to expand its presence and range of U.S.-Mexican cross-border services, the North American truckload carrier announced today.
The company will purchase a 90 percent interest in Xpress Internacional, which has a terminal network in major cities in Mexico, expanding a joint venture created between the two companies five years ago.
U.S. Xpress also has formed a joint venture with Monterrey, Mexico-based Logisti-K, provider of cross-border and Mexican logistics services, expanding the company’s offerings in Mexico to include warehousing and distribution, inventory management, order fulfillment, freight management and freight forwarding.
The deal is the result of increasing demand for trade with Mexico, according to Brian Quinn, vice president and general manager of international services at U.S. Xpress.
