Truckers Fill the Chassis Void

The Intermodal Association of Chicago sent out a survey last month to the draymen asking for their opinion on how to improve the ocean chassis pools. It was learned that Roadibility has actually worsened the condition of the chassis pools at wheeled terminals. The concept of pooled chassis breaks down because of the terminal / lift contractor knows the the trucker will ultimately be held responsible for the chassis that is outgated. Because Roadibility has no effect on terminal operators, and the goal of the terminal operator is to perform as many lifts fast as possible, the terminal operator does not care about the condition of chassis they decide to mount. Wouldn't it be great if the ramp terminal operator could guarantee that the chassis they chose to put underneath a container was indeed an inspected good-order chassis? I bet the draymen would pay an extra few dollars knowing their driver wouldn't be delayed due to the lift operator not caring about mounting a bad chassis or not.
