Thiele Manufacturing Property to be Sold

The property and equipment of bankrupt truck body and trailer maker Thiele Manufacturing will be auctioned Nov. 30 by Maas Companies in Windber, Pa.

A court-appointed trustee shut the company down earlier this year. It filed for bankruptcy protection in 2008, eventually eliminating more than 100 jobs.

By The Numbers: U.S. Truck Shipping Costs.

Thiele, founded in 1901 to build horse wagons, built hauling equipment and dump truck bodies made of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum at its Windber plant.

Maas will auction the 176,036 square foot manufacturing facility and another building, bridge cranes and other equipment on behalf of a creditor.
