Trucking company New England Motor Freight is expanding in the Midwest, opening a larger less-than-truckload freight terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
"Our business in the Ohio marketplace, particularly in the Toledo area, has seen significant growth over the past two years," said Thomas Connery, chief operating officer. Ohio and the Midwest "is a critical part of our network," he said.
In recent years, Elizabeth, N.J.-based NEMF has expanded from its Northeastern base into the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern states, building a 40 terminal network.
The new Toledo terminal -- one of four NEMF terminals in Ohio -- will have 20 dock doors. It will replace a smaller facility when it opens Aug. 2.
