Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Miriam Sapiro and Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour Shalom Simhon recently signed an agreement to ease burdens on U.S. companies, especially smaller manufacturers, seeking to export telecommunications products to Israel.
Rather than requiring additional Israeli testing before U.S. products can be sold in Israel, authorities there will now accept tests performed by recognized U.S. laboratories that determine the conformity of telecom equipment with Israeli technical standards, and vice versa.
Streamlining this process facilitates trade and saves U.S. manufacturers time and money, Ambassador Sapiro said.
The agreement will enter into force after both countries have completed internal legal requirements.
