The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is seeking proposals on whether the U.S. and Colombia should accelerate the elimination of customs duties set out in their respective tariff schedules under the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement Implementation Act, and whether they should make further changes to the agreement’s rules of origin.
The U.S. and Colombia expect to take into consideration the extent that any such changes may reduce transaction and manufacturing costs or increase trade between the nations; the feasibility of devising, implementing and monitoring new rules or origin; and the level and breadth of interest that manufacturers, processors, traders and consumers in the U.S. and Colombia express for making particular changes.
Comments must be received on or before May 13 and can be submitted online under docket number USTR_FRDOC_0001 or by e-mail or mail.
