During a recent European Union General Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, Vytautas Leskevicius, Lithuania’s vice minister of foreign affairs, advocated the implementation of the European Union-Ukraine free trade agreement prior to its ratification to jump-start the economic benefits of the arrangement, according to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
Leskevicius reportedly called on the heads of the EU states to use the upcoming Feb. 7-8 European Council meeting to send a “clear message” about the aim to sign the association agreement with Ukraine.
