Pistole Announces TSA Priorities

The new head of the Transportation Security Administration told employees that his principal goals are to improve counterterrorism efforts, support TSA employees and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and the traveling public.

John S. Pistole, who was sworn in as TSA director on July 1, also announced the launch of a “Talk to TSA” online forum on the TSA Web site.

“Achieving these priorities will take time, energy and the hard work of the men and women at TSA but I believe they are essential to strengthening the ability of the agency to ensure the safety of the traveling public,” Pistole told employees at Logan International Airport.

Logan Airport is the first of a number of facilities Pistole plans to visit, TSA said.
