The World Trade Organization on Nov. 16 adopted panel and appellate body reports in the United States' dispute with China about the imposition of duties on U.S. exports of grain oriented flat-rolled electrical steel, according to Ron Kirk, U.S. Trade Representative.
The WTO panel that found that China had misused anti-dumping and countervailing duties on GOES from the U.S., Kirk said. China’s appeal of that decision was rejected by the WTO on Oct. 18.
China must announce its intentions to implement the WTO’s rulings within 30 days of the WTO adoption of the reports.
