U.S. Customs and Border Protection today named Pete Flores as its new director of field operations in San Diego.
Flores began his new role on Nov. 4, and will provide management oversight for all cargo and passenger operations within the San Diego Field Office, including at the land border ports of entry on the California border with Mexico, as well as airport and seaport operations in San Diego.
He has 24 years of law enforcement experience, beginning his career in 1988 as a customs inspector at the Calexico port of entry. He most recently served as the assistant director of border security at the San Diego Field Office, overseeing all anti-terrorism, narcotics interdiction, alien apprehension, prosecution efforts and the integrity program.
