Len Waterworth, executive director of the Port of Houston Authority, recently reorganized management to a structure based on collaborative teams with specific operations, in order to enhance efficiencies, drive profitability and ensure accountability.
Waterworth named a leadership team at the deputy executive director level to lead three new divisions: operations, which will focus on the efficient movement of cargo for revenue optimizations; finance and administration, to provide support and control for overhead costs; and corporate affairs, for economic growth for the community.
Roger Guenther, formerly vice president of container terminals, will head the operations division. Tom Heidt, formerly vice president of finance and administration, will retain stewardship of those functions. Phyllis Saathoff, who joined the port in October with 20 years of port management experience, will lead corporate affairs.
