The Port of Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium have secured federal activation of a new foreign trade zone in Glenwillow, Ohio.
The new site consists of 83,000 square feet of distribution space and will be operated by Ryder Supply Chain Solutions to provide warehouse services for customers’ export operations. Ryder is moving into an existing space to serve a Canadian client that is setting up operations at the Glenwillow site.
Congress created the FTZ program in 1934 to reduce or eliminate certain trade costs that don’t exist in foreign locations, to encourage companies’ expansion in the U.S.
