The Maritime Employers Association and longshoremen in Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 375 have signed a six-year collective agreement.
The memorandum of agreement signed by both parties on Jan. 4, 2013, was presented to union members attending the union meeting on Feb. 20. The deal focused on workload flexibility and job security, providing new schedules better adapted to market requirements and a salary increase ranging between 1 percent and a maximum of 3 percent between 2013 and 2018.
