Container Volume Jumps 13 Percent at Port of Algeciras

The container terminals at the Port of Algeciras in Spain handled 4.1 million 20-foot-equivalent units in 2012, a 13 percent increase year-over-year.

Total throughput reached 89 million metric tons, rising 8 percent from 2011. The biggest gains were seen in coal, steel, building and food products.
