Massachusetts warehouse is latest step in regional LTL carrier's expansion

Trucking company A. Duie Pyle is expanding its warehousing operations, opening a 243,000-square-foot warehouse in Westfield, Mass. The less-than-truckload carrier now has seven warehouses with more than 2 million square feet of space in the Northeast.

It’s the company’s second facility at Westfield, where it has a 700,000-square-foot campus at the center of its New England LTL service network. Indoor rail-siding will speed loading and unloading of railcars for shippers using the facility, including a leading producer of ice melt products, said Peter Latta, chairman and owner of A. Duie Pyle.

In the past two years, the West Chester, Pa.-based carrier has opened facilities in East Brunswick, N.J., Johnston, R.I. and Northborough, Mass., a $30 million expansion. Earlier this year, A. Duie Pyle acquired seven LTL terminals from YRC Worldwide.
