New hire signals Damco's strong ambitions within reefer logistics December 2009 - Damco accelerates reefer logistics capabilities aimed at companies moving fresh produce and protein in and out of North America with the hire of Mauro Suazo as Head of Reefer Logistics Business Development for North America.
Jens Wessel, Vice President of Damco Sales in North America elaborates.
"Damco is rapidly developing business expertise into the refrigerated supply chain development arena. This hire is a reflection of our ambition to continue to develop customer centric solutions that will sustain and develop our customers' competitiveness in the long run."
Mauro Suazo will be driving Damco's solution design for the company's refrigerated supply chain customers throughout North America and will be a key leader globally in supporting Damco's fresh produce customers. He will initially be focused on working with customers within the fresh produce markets but will collaborate with business leaders, port authorities and our global partners to create new markets and look for competitive advantages for our customers.
"His expertise will assist Damco's customers in not only the physical movement of their goods but working with them on strategic sourcing initiatives, distribution strategies and expanding their global customer base." Says Mr. Wessel.
"The US is again turning into a leading fresh produce and protein exporter and will remain so for years to come in light of the depreciation of the dollar. Damco plans to lead the fresh produce vertical and is well positioned to provide superior service to both producers and buyers in the import and export refrigerated logistics arena." Mr. Wessel ends.
Ole Schack Petersen, Global Head of Reefer Logistics for Damco comments.
"Bringing onboard Mr. Suazo, further consolidates Damco's position as the leading global end2end supply chain specialist in reefer logistics, connecting retailers and other buyers of fresh and frozen produce, reducing cost and lead time to market".
