The West Gulf Maritime Association promoted Niels Aalund to senior vice president of maritime affairs. Aalund joined WGMA in late 2005 as vice president of maritime affairs.
Additionally, Shareen Larmond has been promoted to general counsel from the position of associate general counsel. Larmond succeeds Nathan Wesely, who was named President of WGMA earlier this year. Larmond came to West Gulf Maritime Association in September 2008 after serving almost 6 years as general counsel for Texas State Senator John Whitmire.
West Gulf Maritime Association is a member-based trade association organized in early 1968 to represent the interests of ship owners, operators, agents, as well as stevedoring and terminal companies located in all ports from Brownsville, Texas to the Port of Lake Charles, Louisiana. WGMA’s offices are in Houston, Texas.
