OOCL will extend its largest rate increases to Asia-Australia services, starting March 15.
The Hong Kong-based line said rates will increase by $300 per 20-foot container units on north and east Asia-Australia services.
The “revenue recovery” measure would ensure the “continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater to our customers’ needs”, the carrier said.
The announcement comes after OOCL said it will increase freight rates by $800 per TEU for westbound cargo on Asia-Europe services from March 1. The carrier on Wednesday began a general rate increase of $220 per TEU on westbound trade from India and the Middle East to North Europe.
