Breakbulk and heavylift specialist Rickmers-Linie in partnership with Escombe Lambert Holdings established a liner agency in the UK.
Rickmers-Linie Agency will take over all responsibility for marketing and sales activity throughout the UK as of Sept. 1.
“In the world of project forwarding, the UK is a significant player; many international projects are planned and managed by specialist teams based in the UK,” said Rickmers sales and marketing director Gerhard Janssen. “By establishing this new agency in London and Middlesbrough, we will be better placed to service these customers.”
Ian Ennis of Escombe Lambert will head the main office in Barking, East London. David Greaves, who has for many years been associated with Rickmers-Linie as its UK representative, as well as with Rickmers’ previous agency, OceanExpress, will continue to be based in Middlesbrough.
OceanExpress developed the parcel business out of the UK via Antwerp. The agency will continue that service as a customer of Rickmers-Linie. The new agency expands Rickmers’ operation to the global market for project cargo.
