The United Seamen’s Service will present the 2012 Admiral of the Ocean Sea Awards to Niels M. Johnsen of International Shipholding Corp., Robert Johnston of Overseas Shipholding Group, and Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La.
Johnsen has been executive chairman and CEO of International Shipholding since 2007. He also is chairman of the company’s Central Gulf Lines and Waterman Steamship subsidiaries.
Johnston is senior vice president and head of the U.S.-flag strategic business unit at OSG. He has held a number of positions at sea and onshore since joining OSG in 1969.
Landrieu was elected to the Senate in 1996 and chairs the Senate Small Business Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security.
The annual award will be presented Oct. 26 in New York.
