German ocean carrier Hamburg Sud on Monday christened the Santa Isabel, the second of 10 sister ships, each with a capacity of 7,100 20-foot containers.
The vessel was sponsored in Singapore by Bettina Schacht, wife of Otto Schacht, senior vice president global sea freight, Kuhne+Nagel.

Each of the 10 vessels, which are the largest ever built for Hamburg Sud, has 1,600 reefer plugs, the biggest reefer capacity currently available worldwide.
The Santa Isabel, which was delivered by Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in December, is deployed in Hamburg Sud's New Good Hope Express service between Asia and South Africa and the east coast of South America.
