Gadhafi's Shark Tank

Hannibal Gadhafi, son of the now-deceased Libyan dictator, had built a 3,500 passenger cruise ship, called the Phoenician. The massive ship was decked out with statues, gold and huge marble columns.

While that may not seem to be out of the ordinary, in typical Gadhafi style, the ship was built with a 120-ton seawater tank, with the purpose of housing sharks.

Not just ordinary sharks either, both bull and white sharks that are dangerous to humans.

The ship has been purchased by MSC Cruises. CEO Pier Francesco Vago wasn’t sure why the tank were built, but said they are fully operational.

Hannibal Gadhafi is now living exiled in Algeria so maybe someone can reach out to him and find out if the tanks were strictly for show, or if he had a more nefarious purpose in mind.
