Taiwanese ocean carrier T.S. Lines is joining the China-India Express (CIX) service operated by Hyundai Merchant Marine, effective this month.
“The CIX loop will integrate into T.S. Lines’ existing Asian services as well as its Australia and Middle East strings, making a comprehensive network for the line to move cargo from ports in the Far East, South-East Asia and Australia to India,” the Taipei-based carrier said.
The intra-Asia service deploys five vessels of around 4,250 20-foot-equivalent units capacity.
The port rotation is Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru Port), Singapore, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore and back to Nhava Sheva.
T.S. Lines said the new loop complements its existing India-Middle East Express (IMX) service, which calls Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Mundra and Nhava Sheva. With participation in CIX, the carrier is now in a position to offer twice-weekly calls at Nhava Sheva, India’s largest container port.
T.S. Lines, which is registered in Hong Kong, currently has a fleet of 44 ships that operate on some 38 routes in the intra-Asia, Indian subcontinent and Middle East trade lanes.
