Maersk Line has suspended its Asia-Europe service until April 2013, in view of declining demand.
Available capacity on the remaining Maersk Line Asia-North Europe services will be redistributed across markets as required. No impact is expected for customers.
Following its suspension, the AE9 service will not continue as a dedicated Asia-North Europe product, but will instead be merged with the TP7 service for the Asia-North America and Asia-Europe markets via Suez, Egypt.
The ocean carrier has also increased rates on its trade from the Middle East to the east coast of South America, effective March 1. The hike will be $150 per 20-foot dry container and $300 per 40-foot dry container.
Additionally, Maersk Line has updated its U.S. inland import and export tariffs.
