Maersk Revises South Atlantic Express Schedule

Maersk Line’s South Atlantic Express will operate with a revised schedule, effective with the Maersk Roubaix, 1315, with an estimated time of arrival in Savannah, Ga., on March 28:

  • Manzanillo, Panama, will be added to the rotation, providing on-carriage access to South America’s west coast, Central America, the Caribbean and Oceania.
  • Puerto Moin, Costa Rica, will be added to the rotation, providing direct U.S. East Coast access to Costa Rica.
  • Puerto Cortez and Santo Tomas, Guatemala, will be called twice in the rotation, once for imports and a second time for exports, ensuring there are no changes in the current transit times or cargo availability.

The carrier will also increase rates on its trade from the Far East to South America’s west coast, starting April 1. The hike will be $250 per 20-foot container and $500 per 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube and 45-foot container.

Additionally, Maersk Line will hike rates on its inland services for all shipments to and from Mexico, effective April 12. The increase will depend on the corridor.
