Maersk Line said it promoted Jakob Stausholm, currently chief of strategy & transformation, to take on additional responsibilities as chief financial officer.
He succeeds Peter Roennest Andersen, who will leave the group on June 19 after 20 years with the company.
In addition to his current role, Stausholm will assume responsibility for finance and become chief strategy, finance and transformation officer.
Stausholm gained financial experience from his previous role as group CFO for global facility provider ISS from 2008 to 2011. Before that, he worked 19 years for Shell in numerous senior finance positions including four CFO assignments in Europe, Latin America and Asia and as chief internal auditor for the group.
Stausholm has been living and working in The Hague, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, London and Singapore. He is a non-executive member of the board of Statoil ASA, where he chairs the audit committee.
Andersen has had a long and distinguished career in the company since he joined Maersk Line in 1992 as an economist in Copenhagen. He has served in a number of roles, most recently as CFO of Maersk Line.
