Maersk Line will impose a general rate increase on cargo from India to the east coast of South America, starting June 1.
The planned increase will be $100 per 20-foot-equivalent unit and $200 per 40-foot-equivalent unit.
“This increase is necessary to ensure the high service levels that customers are used to when doing business with Maersk Line,” Maersk India said.
Separately, the Danish carrier said it will push its rates up by $300 per refrigerated container from the east coast of South America to the Middle East, Europe, the Black Sea and North Africa, also effective June 1.
