The Port of Jacksonville will get new calls this month by China Shipping and United Arab Shipping, which participate in a vessel-sharing agreement with CMA CGM in its PEX 3 service.
This development makes Jaxport the last port of call on the PEX 3 rotation’s westbound leg, following U.S. calls at Houston, Mobile and Miami
The PEX 3 service calls APM Terminals at the Jacksonville Port Authority’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. Its rotation is: Xiamen, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo, (Mexico), Houston, Mobile, Miami, Jacksonville, Vostochny, Russia and bank to Xiamen.
Jaxport Executive Vice President Roy Schleicher said the addition of China Shipping and UASC gives the port calls by 11 of the world’s top 15 ocean carriers.
