German ocean carrier Hamburg Sud will raise its rates on trades from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to Europe, South America and the Caribbean, starting July 1.
The planned increase on dry and reefer cargo will be $150 per 20-foot equivalent unit.
The subcontinent region includes ports in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
In other trade news, Orient Overseas Container Line restructured its China-Pakistan Express (CPX) Service by switching out Indian port calls.
The intra-Asia service, which OOCL operates with Yang Ming Line, would now call at Mundra Port instead of Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) and Pipavav Port.
The new rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Shekou, Singapore, Karachi, Mundra, Penang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
The weekly CPX currently deploys five vessels with capacities ranging from 3,500 to 4,500 20-foot equivalent units.
