Singapore-based ocean carrier APL plans to increase rates on all containers moving from India to Canada and the U.S., excluding Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, starting April 1.
The planned hike on dry cargo will be $320 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container. Rates on refrigerated shipments will increase by $400 per 40-foot/high-cube container.
APL India in a notice to customers said the increases apply to both tariff and service contract rates, as well as flat-rack, open-top, tank and all other types of special equipment.
