Applied Weather Technology, a provider of ocean voyage routing software, is opening offices in Singapore and Tokyo to expand its services in the Asia-Pacific region.
“We’re seeing growing global demand from companies that are realizing how significantly the latest weather- and ship-routing technology can help keep vessels safe, reduce fuel consumption, costs and carbon emissions,” said Skip Vaccarello, AWT’s president and CEO.
By The Numbers: Container Rate Benchmark.
AWT’s marine voyage optimization software and routing services help ship owners, operators, fleet managers and ship captains to identify the safest and most time-efficient routes, as well as reduce fuel consumption, costs and carbon emissions. AWT said its studies show that fleets using its routing services have realized fuel savings of between 5 and 10 percent, which in some cases could amount to saving hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.
