The Association of Southeast Asian Nations and India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy held a meeting in New Delhi today, agreeing to cooperate on renewable energy, including financing, technology and research and development, according to the Indian agency.
India currently has installed capacity of more than 26 gigawatts of renewable energy, and the country aims to achieve about 55 GW of renewable power by 2017, said Farooq Abdullah, India’s minister of new and renewable energy, who inaugurated the meeting.
