Col. Paul E. Owen assumed command of the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Friday.
Owen replaces Col. John R. Boule II, who had served as commander and district engineer since July 2009 and who retired following 26 years of military service.
Owen, who graduated from West Point in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, has served in a variety of operational, command and staff assignments in the U.S. and overseas. His most recent assignment was serving at the U.S. Army War College as a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow with duties at Cisco Systems San Jose, California.
He has also served as an assistant professor of physics at West Point.
