HUNT VALLEY, Md. — TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ:TESS), a leading provider of the product and value chain solutions required to build, use and maintain wireless systems, today announced that it has successfully completed a full recertification audit of its supply-chain quality management system and maintained its ISO 9001:2008 and TL 9000 registration (TL6575).

The TL 9000 Quality Management System is the telecom industry's unique extension to ISO 9001:2008 and was developed to meet the supply-chain quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry.

TESSCO is one of the first companies to update its measurement standards from TL 9000-V Release 4.5 to 5.0, and the first company certified by National Quality Assurance, U.S.A. (NQA) to achieve this compliance. The TL 9000 Quality Management System (QMS) Measurements Handbook Release 5.0 is a comprehensive guide to measurements processing, usage, responsibilities and requirements. It defines the minimum set of performance measurements to assess progress and evaluate results of quality management system implementation. It identifies performance measurements in the key areas of hardware, software, common, outage and service quality.

To achieve this distinction, aspects of TESSCO’s business were audited by NQA, an accredited organization under the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board. “TESSCO is proud to be one of the first companies to update our certificate to TL 9000-V R5.0/R5.0,” said TESSCO Senior Vice President Doug Rein. “This important recertification represents our focus on maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence and our proven ability to demonstrate cost- and performance-based improvements of reliability and quality of products, services, and supply-chain solutions.”
