Germany-based logistics provider Dachser recently opened a branch in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, the company’s fourth South African office.
The Port Elizabeth opening was driven by expanding opportunities in the province ever since the inception of the Port of Ngqura, which is 12 miles northeast of Port Elizabeth at the mouth of the Coega River, according to Detlev Duve, managing director of Dachser South Africa.
Harold Thomas was appointed manager of the Port Elizabeth office. He has more than 30 years of experience in the freight industry.
