SCOTTSDALE, AZ., USA, 11 December 2013 – APL Logistics was today lauded for its service excellence. It received the Barilla Pasta Carrier of the Quarter Award for delivering the best service performance among the carrier partners of Barilla Pasta USA in the third quarter. Barilla is one of the top Italian food groups and a leader for pasta worldwide.

The global 3PL company scored high in key service metrics, such as On-time Pick-up and On-Time Delivery. APL Logistics’ quarterly score of 98 out of 100 put it at the top of the peer carrier rank.

“I’m very proud of our transportation team for winning the Barilla Pasta Carrier of the Quarter Award as it speaks to their dedication and commitment in fulfilling the logistical priorities of a very important customer,” said APL Logistics Vice President for Land Transport Services Dave Howland. “We look forward to taking on more responsibilities within Barilla Pasta's supply chain.”

Barilla Pasta started the Carrier of the Quarter award six years ago to encourage a high level of service standard among its supply chain contractors.

“The Carrier of the Quarter award has been successful in reinforcing the requirements we expect from our carrier partners,” Barilla Pasta National Manager of Customer Service and Operations Craig Gillis explained. “By meeting our exacting standards, they in turn help us deliver superior performance to our customers; which is why this award means a great deal to Barilla Pasta, just as it does our carrier partners.”
