Panalpina, the global freight forwarding and logistics group, has opened four new logistics competence centers around the world, supported by a new supply chain solutions center in Frankfurt.
The logistics centers — in New Jersey, Singapore, Prague and Buenos Aires — are a response to “the increasing pressure for companies to maximize efficiency in their supply chains ... through the entire product life cycle,” the Swiss company said.
The competence centers will focus on finding and implementing the best solutions for warehousing, and the Frankfurt office will act an extension of customers’ end-to-end supply chain management.
“We analyze supply chains and make recommendations to eliminate the identified inefficiencies and to support the customer’s market or production strategy,” said Peter Karel, Global Head of Supply Chain Solutions at Panalpina.
“It is all about cutting out process waste and reducing direct and indirect costs.”
