Initial Jobless Claims Decline

Seasonal adjusted Initial claims for the week ending Oct. 6 declined 30,000 from the week before to total 339,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported. There were 402,000 initial claims in the comparable week in 2011.

The four-week moving average fell to 363,500, a drop of 11,500.
