After two years, Schenker completed the integration of BAX Global operations and its own business within the United States. The unified company is doing business under the brand name DB Schenker, according to Heiner Murmann, CEO of Schenker.
The integration began when Schenker parent Deutsche Bahn purchased BAX Global in January 2006. All U.S. operations have successfully transitioned to DB Schenker with the exception of BAX’s international hub in Toledo, Ohio, Murmann said.
BAX Global transportation and express consignment operating groups along with the container freight station in Toledo will continue as a separate entity. BAX Global will serve the wholesale community as a neutral provider handling primarily domestic cargo under its BAX Forwarder Network program.
DB Schenker combines all transport and logistics activities of Deutsche Bahn. Annual revenue in 2007 was $22.6 billion.
