IATA Appoints Shane as General Counsel

The International Air Transport Association has appointed Jeffrey N. Shane as general counsel.

Shane will start on April 2 and will be based at IATA’s headquarters in Montreal. He succeeds Gary Doernhoefer, who is leaving IATA.

He joins IATA from the law firm of Hogan Lovells US, where has been a partner since 2008. Before that, he served as the Undersecretary of Transportation for Policy with the U.S. Department of Transportation from 2003 to 2008. He has spent more than 25 years in public service, primarily focusing on international aviation.
